The technician ran a camera into my line and said there was a breakage in the line. Then he went outside and opened a clean out and said that the clean out line was full and collapsed. He recommended a spot repair for $4500 which would involve jack hammering my wood floors and having to replace them for thousands of dollars on top of the plumber\'s fee.

I had a second company come out and they showed me with their camera that my line was totally clear from the toilet all the way to the front clean out. The clean out line was not clogged with mud or collapsed. I saw that it was completely clear. I would have spent thousands of dollars for no reason had I gone with the plan from Ernie\'s. I\'m glad I got a second opinion.

Hmmmm.....First off, if one of my plumbers attempted to sell you something you did not need then I can assure you that he will be fired from my company. However, you called us out for a problem or we would not have been out to your home to begin with. So, something is seriously wrong. The following is what I am going to request from you. Jimmy, my General Manager has already been notified and he has attempted to call you. He had to leave a message. He also emailed you without any reply. Please repond to him so that he can schedule Michael out to your home. Michael is our Supervisor and will want to come back out and camera your line for himself. This will give us an opportunity to find out if we have a rogue plumber. If so, he is gone. If not, then we will show you on our camera what our plumber was giving you a bid for. Getting another bid from another company but was very pleased with your company. Craig removed his boots and was very respectful. I am not sure what a PMA is so I did not rate it high? Sorry!

Repair shower handle from previous work done by Ernie\'s.

Hi Jimmy, Michael#410 did an excellent job of replacing the shower handle and discussing our ways to tell if we have a leak in our overflow drains in our tubs. David told us we would need to pull the toilet to get the tub out and then have to retile. Michael said to 1st fill the tub all the way up and let the water out to see if there is a leak (water between the tub and toilet, water outside the house since the shower backs up to the outside wall). If we needed further investigation, Michael told us about the camera we could use to look inside the wall to see if there is a problem . . . all much much cheaper options than David\'s suggestion. Gail and I still think that David overcharged us for our repairs. We have always had trust in Ernie\'s in the past so we trusted that we would be quoted a fair price. After investigation of the cost of parts, we think David inflated the price to repair our plumbing problems. We would like to discuss this with you. I (Mary) have provided my cell phone number. I am a traveling teacher so if I am with a student, I may not be able to pick up or if I pick up, I may need to tell you I will call you back in about 1/2 hour. If we decide to use Ernie\'s in the future, we would like Michael #410 listed in our records as our plumber of choice. I look forward to hear from you. Sincerely, Mary

Repair leaking Delta Monitor Tub/Shower faucet. Replace the lift & turn on the tub. Priced at $350. * Additional work of installing a new hose bib on the back of the house with access in the wall of the laundry area. Priced at $200 Total Charge $500

Gail Xxxx and Mary Xxxxx, owners of 2300 Xx Xxx Xxxx, Arlington, TX 76014. We have used Ernie\'s over the last 10 yrs. and had been very please with Mike M.\'s work. However, we are very displeased with the service provided by David Meyer on 10/31/11. We feel that David overcharged us and did not provide us with appropriate advice as to repairing our leaky faucet versus replacing the faucet. David charged us $350 to install a new cartridge in our Delta shower faucet (Home Depot price $40) and to replace the lift turn in the bathtub (approximately $10). We went out and purchased a new handle for the faucet at approximately $15-$20 out of our own pocket because David couldn\'t get the other handle off of the faucet and had to cut the handle off and said he would have to charge us additional cost to purchase and replace the handle. In addition, it is now January 2012, less than 3 months from the repair. The handle that we purchase and David installed is stripped and has fallen off. Apparently David only stuck the handle on the stem without securing it. The plastic piece on the inside of the handle is now stripped and not working. We have gone to Home Depot and purchased an entire replacement faucet. Someone is scheduled to come over tomorrow afternoon (January 24, 2012) from Ernie\'s to install it. We would like someone in a decision making position from Ernie\'s to contact us prior to their arrival to discuss this matter.

replace bathroom faucet and install dishwasher. We had already removed both!

You were supposed to come yesterday evening between 5 and 7 but did not come until today :(. Your prices are rediculous!!!!!! I feel the plumber replaced things that were not truly necessary. We had the old faucet off and the old dishwasher removed already so that did not have to be done. Our house was built in the 50\'s so my husband asked how much it would be to re-plumb the entire half bath,he told my husband it would be $9000 - are you CRAZY. We have always used Xxxxx Plumbing but since you were availble to come yesterday my husband booked with you but as it turned out you did not come yesterday like you were supposed to so we truly should have called Xxxxx Plumbing. I can guarantee he would have only charged us $200-$300 for the job we just paid $500 for. After we got the estimate my husband told your plumber we would call someone else - he made a few changes on the estimate and lowered the charge about $60. I was reaady to call Xxxxx Plumbing but my husband said go ahead since you are already here. YOUR PRICES ARE RIDICULOUS!!! WILL NEVER CALL ERNIES AGAIN! JUST SO XXXXX\'d, FEEL LIKE I HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF!

David Meyer arrived on time very professional and knowledgeable. He was very careful not to make any mess worked very hard all day long to get the repair done. It was refreshing to have a plumber come out that knew what he was doing. I had and estimate from another plumbing company that was $2000 more and would have required a lot of damage to do the same thing. On time with a fancy truck doesn\'t make the plumber. I will use ernies from now on. Great job David!

Removed and replaced entire length of main drain line

Work was done much more quickly than expected; nice except this should have resulted in a price reduction from the original quote (before discounts, etc.). Originally was told that plumbers would not have to go through house; all work was to be done from the outside; instead, no trencher machine was brought and the digging was done by hand. One of the diggers wore his protective booties outside and thus dragged in some dirt which wasn\'t completely cleaned (all others including Donald wore them correctly). The removal of the old pipe got a wall near the crawl space opening dirty, and they were unable to get it completely clean. Donald left quite a lot of dirt on the door to the crawlspace, under the carpet. Outside of these cleanliness issues, they did what appears to be excellent work, and were very quick, too! All were courteous to us, if not necessarily our carpet and wall. And, we like working with Donald very much. Please call alternate number if there are further questions:

Replaced kitchen sink, garbage disposal and all associated plumbing.

Ernie\'s Plumbing did a great job and were professional in every part of the process. I used Angies list to get the names of a few highly rated plumbers in my area. I had each plumber give me a quote on how much it would be to replace our kitchen sink, garbage disposal and all associated plumbing. There were many leaks so I specified that I wanted all new pipes and hoses installed under the sink. Ernies was the first to get back to me and were eager to get me an estimate. They turned out to be the most competitive bid and could be out at my house when I had wanted. On the day of the work they called when they said they would call and showed up when they said they would show up. Gary, the technician was very polite and listened to how I wanted the work done. When he was done the work looked great and he cared enough to clean the area well. The work was done for the amount of the estimate. I have now added their name and number into my contact list and would recommend them highly and use them again in the future.

Too much to go into right now, but let me say that I first had Juan Ortiz seven years ago and would NOT have anyone else but him! He is the best plumber we have ever had and that is why I waited until he was available this Tuesday. I feel confident in whatever he suggests and does and am very pleased with his work. He cleans up from whatever he has done, is so polite and I am very glad to have him in our house as I have not felt that way about some other people (not from Ernies) in the past years. I always recommend Ernies to friends and will continue to do so.

Repair leaks and ghost flushing in 2 bathrooms.

Terry was absolutely wonderful and friendly! Not only was he knowledgeable but he went above and beyond his estimated work. He did some courtesy caulking, added toilet screw caps, and even scrubbed the inside calcium buildup in the toilet. (and left me a little extra piece of sandpaper to clean for later!) I was completely amazed with how considerate and clean he was. He kept in complete comunication with me and let me know his progress every step of the way. Terry was very thorough. What a great representation of your company. Fabulous asset and employee. Will defintely be asking for him in the future and I will absolutely recomend Ernie\'s to other people. Please comend him. We had a serious hot water leak which was causing our wood floor to become quite hot. James, in consultation with Michael, came up with a clever rerouting of our pipes, which helped prevent the need to cut into the hardwood floor.

I was very happy with the job that James and Jeremy did and quite impressed that they were able to finish such a difficult job by noon. I was also really impressed with Michael (the supervisor?), who was so good at explaining our different options and working with us to keep costs down and damage to our floor to a minimum. I will definitely recommend Ernie\'s plumbing in to my friends and coworkers.

My garbage disposal/pipes were clogged with food from having a lot of guests over during the holidays.

Jorge V (Employee #401) was very respectful when he entered my home. He waited patiently while I described the issues I was having with my plumbing. He performed a quick analysis and presented options for me along with the prices. He then told me what he would recommend. He then fixed the issue while explaining everything he was doing. He also took the time to explain how the issue could be prevented in the future along with some good plumbing maintenance tips. He also took the time to explain the PMA feature that is offered. Overall great job!! I will be contacting this company again if I have any plumbing issues.

HAD A MAJOR LEAK UNDER KITCHEN SINK. DON CAME IN AND REPLACED EVERYTHING AT MY REQUEST AND EVEN THE CONNECTION TO THE FRIG. WATER NEVER RAN CORRECTLY AND NOW IT RUNS SO MUCH FASTER.

DON WAS VERY COURTEOUS AND EXPLAINED EVERYTHING TO ME AS HE WAS WORKING. I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW MUCH BETTER THINGS ARE RUNNING IN THE KITCHEN. I LOVE TO COOK SO IT WAS VERY FRUSTRATING WHEN THE WATER WAS NOT FLOWING CORRECTLY. NOW I AM SO MUCH MORE HAPPIER IN THE KITCHEN. I HAD TO CALL DON BACK IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER BECAUSE I SPRUNG A LEAK AND AGAIN HE CAME IN VERY PROFESSIONALLY TAKING CARE OF MY PROBLEM AND EXPLAINING WHY I HAD ANOTHER LEAK. I LOVE THAT THEY DO NOT CHARGE SERVICE CALLS BECAUSE I TAKE CARE OF MY MOM AND SHE IS ON A FIXED INCOME SO THE EXPENSE OF TAKING CARE OF A HOME HAS TO NOT BE AT SUCH BIG EXPENSE AND IT HELPS THAT THERE IS NO SERVICE CALL CHARGE. I PLAN ON CALLING DON BACK IN TO FIX OTHER PROBLEMS IN THE HOUSE AT A LATER DATE. Your price was way to high! $480 to glue back a few clean out pipes and tie them up. Your worker did a great job and was very nice, but I wouldn\'t recommend you to friends because I feel you overcharged for the work that was done.

January 03rd @ 5:30 pm......Wow! Excuse me if I am a little confused with your post. We dispatched our plumber to your home at no charge to you. Once at your home our plumber reviewed with you whatever work was needed be be performed. Again, at no charge to you. He then hand writes on an estimate sheet all work that would be performed by him and what he will charge you. Still again, at no charge to you. He has given to you exactly what we advertise we will do which is to offer you an absolute free hand written estimate. He cannot even begin the work until after you have read the entire estimate and you have signed the estimate where it states that you understand and approve the work to be performed and the charges for it. Now this all takes place before he can even break out a wrench to begin his work. So can you understand my question of, at what point then did you become disenchanted? You state that he did a great job and was very nice? Do you see my confusion? I will have someone contact you about your post. Thank you! Respectfully, Ernie........January 04th @ 7:32 am Upon review of your invoice I have concluded that if anything, our plumber has slightly undercharged you. However, do not worry. We will not bill you anything extra. In your words in your post you attempt to make it appear that our plumber only glued a few pipes back together in your attic and that it only took him a few minutes. However, the following is our research of what actually transpired; At 9:27 am our dispatcher Teletrac\'d our plumber his next job. At 9:28 am our plumber then Teletrac\'d our dispatcher that he was in route to your address. Next at 10:05 am or 37 minutes later our plumber Teletrac\'d us that he had arrived at your home. As advertised you were NOT charged for his travel time. At 1:06 pm or 3 hours later our plumber Teletrac\'d his dispatcher that he had completed your job and was ready for his next one. After researching your job this morning we have concluded that his parts used, plus tax and his time spent for this job that his charges should have been closer to $525.00. Therefore, in this case I am truly sorry that you feel we were too high and will not be refering your friends to us. Honestly, we really try to do everything we can to take care of our customers. And if we can see that our customer has been overcharged we gladly will refund the over charged amount. Yet, this was not the case. I truly hope that you will reconsider the services we performed for you from the time our plumber spent to complete your job. As you stated in your post our plumber did great work and was very nice to you. Respectfully and sincerely, Ernie!

We commend your service technician, Matthew Berry, for the outstanding and professional way in which he responded to our need for an emergency assessment of a suspected gas leak in our home today. Although we discovered that we had a contract with another (home maintenance warranty) company, Mr. Berry helped us understand the situation with our gas line and even advised us and spoke with Total Protect to ensure that we would receive the appropriate and necessary repairs to our home in a cost effective way. He did all of this with a reassuring and respectful demeanor. Called on the 23rd of December and Darrel Saledo arrived shortly after 9:15 am. He accessed the problem, wrote out a work order explaining what all he needed to bring the installation up to city code. He returned at time stated and immediately began the installation of a new 50 gallon hot water heater.

Darrell was extremely efficient and had to leave to obtain all the equipment necessary to update a hot water heater that was over 20 years old. I was having dinner guest and thought I would have to cancel but because he worked diligently he had the new equipment installed prior to 2pm. He went over all the safety features and advised that the city plumbing inspector would come out Monday or Tuesday and inspect his work. I am happy to say that the inspector arrived early Tuesday morning, unannounced, and inspected the work, asked me several questions concerning if Darrell had explained the safety features and within 10 minutes I had my \"green card\". Christmas Day at my mother\'s home, and the toilet clogged and would not flush. Merry Christmas! Service tech came out and roto rooted the toilet 85ft out to clear tree roots.

Called at 8am, service tech arrived by 8:30am, done and gone by 10:00am. Very Quick! Terry was polite and professional. Jimmy gave my mother senior discount and wanted to assure me that they would take care of my mom if she needed any plumbing services in future. Roto Rooter thru the toilet, Approx. 85\' out, to clear tree roots. Arrived at 8:30am, work complete and service tech gone by 10:00am. Terry was very polite and professional, no problem with him.

Excellent service. However, I felt the price of $460 was a little high. I was expecting it to be about 100.00 less. (Price included senior discount- my mom is 65yr old.) Neither she or I will recommend Ernie\'s Plumbing due to the high cost factor.

My plumber Terry Brown was very courteous and friendly, gave a reasonable estimate up front and fixed a problem in a very hard area to obtain access. During this work he was very friendly giving me many maintenance tips about plumbing systems in my home. Lastly he checked throroughly for any leakage cleaned up after his work and made sure I was fully satisfied after he explained the warranty. This was my first experience with Ernie\'s and they will be my first choice for my next plumbing issue. I will also request Terry Brown is he is available at that time.

Repeated Toilet Problem

Greg came out for the second time because our bathroom toilet was getting stopped up. Today he came out and snaked the line again and told me that it should not have stopped up so soon after he last snaked it and he recommended that we had a camera put down the line because he saw what looked like dirty water flowing down the sewer line after he had snaked it and we ran water thru the line. He said it looked to him like we must have a broken sewer line under the house and the only way to find out was to have the camera put into the line, he called and made arrangements to have some come and do the camera. About two hours later Don showed up and put the camera down the line. He did not find any problem in the line and told me that everything looked clear as far as he could tell. We discussed what could have caused the problem and I found him very helpful in answering my questions. He was very professional and treated me with respect even after I know I was asking him stupid questions about our plumbing. He gave me the impression of someone who was concerned about my problem and wanted to help solve my problem in any way that he could. He did not have to provide me with another refrigerator magnet because I have two of them on the refrigerator where we were working plus when he asked me I told him I had your phone number on the magnet already, and I signed up for your PMA program when Ernie\'s came and fixed my front bathroom dripping faucet about a month ago and I informed Don of this. Having been in the service industry for many years prior to my retirement and having customer service our #1 priority I really appreciated having Don do this work at my home today. I can appreciate someone that works for a company that the employe\'s priority is to do everything he can to make his employer successful and thru his work ethic\'s continue to work for a company that will succeed for the future. Sorry to be so long winded but it was so nice to meet and have Don work on my home. Keep him because he is a credit to your company and the kind of employee that reflects everything that is good about and for your company.

Matt is fantastic! Very courteous, extremely thorough. Definitely an asset to the company. I had scheduling challenges with the dispatcher. I called on Dec 19 to make an appt for Dec 20, btwn 8-9am. It took two calls on Dec 20 to get a plumber to arrive. But Matt was here within 30 mins of my second call. Matt is great.

I called Ernie’s Plumbing Service from a recommendation on Angie’s List. They seriously are the best quality plumbing crew in Dallas, Texas. Ernie’s crew has great customer service skills; they were prompt, friendly, professional and most of all willing to explain the behind-the-scene of what and why they were doing things, which I found extremely helpful as I’m not very handy. I had three companies out to identify and fix a hot water problem at my house. None of them were able to help or solve my problem. Damien Raines was the technician that came out on a Saturday to remove and replace my tankless water heater. Damien is awesome; arrive on time, very professional, great customer service skills, he explained every step of what he was going to do, hard worker, and did a fantastic job installing a new water heater in my home. He worked long hard hours until it was done. I would definitely recommend him to friends and family. I’m highly recommending Ernie’s Plumbing Service to anybody who needs some plumbing to be done. When I discovered that both of my commodes were stopped up today, I called my brother, who is a contractor. He was out of town but said call Ernies Plumbing. He used Ernies in 2008 when he remodeled my house. We were impressed with the job they did then. I called today and they had someone out within an hour. The plumber, Will, was very courteous and professional. He unstopped my commodes and I was thrilled with how soon they came out and fixed my problem. I will recommend Ernies to all my family and friends. They did an excellent job and were prompt, courteous, efficient and reasonable. Way to go, Earnie. Keep up the good work. I would like to indicate that Earnie\'s Plumbing has taken very positive steps to restore my faith in Earnie\'s services. Jimmy(Manager) contacted me within a few minutes of my review of Earnie\'s services. Jimmy apologized for the actions of the plumber that did not represent the company appropriately in providing appropriate estimates and review of the necessary work. Because this caused me to have to contact another company and required me to take further steps to get the work completed in an appropriate manner Jimmie met with Earnie and Earnie\'s chose to cover the cost of the repair. This is a positive indication that Earnie\'s is still the quality company that I have known for many years and will do whatever is necessary to make the situation right. Requested estimate to repair drain leak.

I had used Earnie\'s plumbing almost since the business started because they were refered to me by a close friend in the plumbing business. For many years I recieved profesional service that was high quality from the company and felt like I knew the company. Yesterday 12/8/2011 that opinion changed. Employee# 361/John came out to give repair estimate and/or repair the leak at the home. The house was built in 1954 so the plumbing was old but still in good shape and functional. A drain from the tub had pulled away and broken the lead seal on the pipe. The pipe was still in good shape. John indicated that the only way to repair the issue was to completely re-plumb the home. I expressed that I only wanted to repair the leak so that the plumbing could be made appropriately operational. John indicated that the only way that could happen would be to replace all of the associate plumbing or he could not warranty the work. The cost estimate for this was $4,905.00 which was reduced to $4,450.00 because I have been a long standing customer. I felt that the plumbing was still in good shape and did not need to be replaced. I contacted other contractors to ghet another opinion in regard to the work that woukd be necessary to repair the leak. This morning I met with another contractor on sight as I had with Earnie\'s to review the leak issue. This company indicated that they could repair the leak below the tub with a boot manufactured for that purpose and the cost would be between $250.00 and $275.00. Once the leak in the system was repaired the water backed up into the tub. This was an indication that the exit line to the street was clogged. Cleaning this line was an added cost of $135.00. My total cost for repair and appropriate operation of the plumbing in the house was $410.00. This indicates that the plumber that Earnie\'s sent out must not have had the appropriate knowledge to repair the plumbing in the most efficient and appropriate manner and only looked at replacement without understanding the plumbing well enough to know how to repair it properly. It appears that the Standards for repair at Earnie\'s Plumbing have changed and repair of existing plumbing is no longer a consideration, replacement at much higher cost is the only solution considered. Because of this I will have to use a plumbing service, in the future, that bring the skill and knowledge to repair the plumbing that is in place.

clogged main line

Called and made appt on 12-07 for clogged main line. Had an arrival time between 2-4pm. Got a call at 3:45 stating plumber was running behind and we would get a call when he was on his way. Got a call at 6:12 that he was on his way and about an hour out. At 7:38 no one had arrived, I called and the person who answered said they would find out what happened and call back. Within 10 mins young lady called back and explained that plumber got called back to previous job and neglected to call in. By now it is 8pm and I have sewage coming into my home and am trying to call another plumbing service, with no luck. The service offered another plumber but it would be another hour and half wait for them to get out to our home. Very disappointed, I have school age children and get up very early for work the next am. I understand running late, but I feel that this is not good business at all. I will now have no shower or restroom available for my family of 5! Will not recommend your business ever!

Leaking kitchen faucet

Matt did an excellent job for us. In addition to fixing the leaking faucet he took the time to show me and explain why he thought we should repair the faucet, not replace it. He also discovered other potential leak problems with the plumbing under the sink and explained the wisdom in making those repairs as well. I felt him to be honest and proceeded with the repairs. Trying to turn off our water to the house he discovered problems with the water shut off valve at the street. He advised me to contact the city and provided information enabling me to obtain a new meter, which I have been trying to do for a number of years. The following day, after the city replaced the mater, he returned to our home and completed the job in a timely manner. I felt he truly was interested in providing outstanding service to us. I also trusted him in our home alone as I worked in my office over the garage. Although the bill was nearly $500 I thought the cost was justified and I felt Matt did all he could to give us the best price he could. Disconnect my dishwasher and connect the new one. And it was a job and a half to get that done. Water had to be turned off, no problem to me. Since the old dishwasher was hard wired, the electricity had to be turned off. Then the water valve had to be reworked and replaced.

Terry Brown took care of all the above with patience and persistence. He was courteous and did excellent work. He checked out the dishwasher to see if all the connections held...they did. I would call on him to do any other plumbing work.

Terry Brown has been out on three calls since August. We have experienced various plumbing problems due to soil subsidence from the drought. I want to tell you that I was very pleased with the professionalism of Donald #380. Donald came to the house evaluated the situation & gave us our options. Our home is an older home & was built with in 1968, Donald ran into several problems due to how the house was built & he worked around them,it took 3 days to get it done we are pleased with his work. Repaired a leak coming from the shower head, but discovered that the repair had to be resolved by going through the wall behind the shower stems in order to completely replace the existing hardware, which was the original hardware when the house was built in 1969.

Lonnie Lee was provided exceptional customer service. He explained everything he was seeing and how he would have to go about it before starting the work. Once he got started on the job he took the time to explain what he was doing while executing the job. Something my wife and I really appreciated. It was good to see that this type of professionalism / customer service still exists. We\'ve used other plumbing service and they\'re service paled in comparison to Ernie\'s. We had a galvanized pipe under the house leaking.

\"This was the best experience I have ever had with a plumber\". We called and within 30 minutes we recieved a call back from the office and we were told that they would arrive in one hour.In exactly one hour (Chaz 425) arrived exactly when they told us he would. Chaz was very courteous and knowledgable,we explained the issue to him he listened(without interupting)and he explained to us what needed to be done to fix the leak and what to expect to pay for the work.We agreed to it and he started working immediately, he wore the shoe booties and put plastic down on our carpet to protect it from dirt and mud.Before we knew it he had completed the job.I just wanted to share this experience with other people that may read the reviews when looking for a great plumber,look no further than ERNIE\'S (Quintessential)!!!!!

We have an old house and had a water leak, we called Ernies and it was a great experience. Everybody came on time. The Plumber John Schrader was awesome, he explained exactly what needed to be done. We got a fair and reasonable estimate. Every step was explained fully and completed in a timely manner. Mr. Schrader was most professional and personable. I am impressed, I have never seen a plumber come with his own cleaning materials, everything was left spotless. He even kept on the booties when I told him he didn\'t have to. The water line from street to house was leaking.

Cody came out and assessed the problem, gave us an estimate. It was lower than 2 others so we called Ernie\'s back and told them to go ahead. The next day Cody and Pete came and worked so hard in digging the spot for the new line. It got dark but they kept on until they were done. They were very professional did what appears to be a fine job. I got a call the next day from your office to see if the job was suitable and I said they were great but didn\'t clean it up very well (because of the darkness and the fact that they had worked so hard and were tuckered out). The girl I talked to said she\'d get in touch with them and send them right out. Pete came out shortly and cleaned up the debris to my satisfaction. It was a pleasant experience dealing with your company and Cody and Pete were great - such hard workers and so polite. I will call Ernie\'s again if I need a plumber. Thanks a lot, Sandy

Today was just an estimate to have a leak in our son\'s bathroom fixed.

We were given an estimate and the plumber was very helpful, very knowledgeable, and he offered suggestions and ideas to help us find a way to resolve our problem. He listened patiently as we explained our previous unpleasant experience with another plumber. Let me just tell you that it was like a night and day difference from what we had just dealt with to what we experienced so far with Ernie\'s Plumbing, and for the better for sure! We recently used Metro Rooter because my husband wanted to use the plumber his mother had trusted for years. MY WIFE AND I WAS CURIOUS ABOUT THEIR WORKING RELATIONSHIP AND THEY INFORMED US THAT THEY HAVE BEEN WORKING AS A TEAM FOR OVER 10YRS. THEY WERE A PLEASURE TO HAVE IN OUR HOME UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES. HOWEVER THE LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT YOUR OFFICE STAFF PROVIDED WAS VERY POOR AND UNPROFESSIONAL. WE HAVE USED YOUR COMPANY SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE LAST 13YRS AND WE HAVE NEVER BEEN DIS-PLEASED UNTIL THIS TIME. I called to have my bathtub drain fixed. I was given a 4 hour time window, but was called back shortly thereafter informing me that someone was available and on the way. I think it was about an hour from when I first called and #410 Michael arrived. He quickly identified the problem and provided me with a quote for the repairs, explaining what needed to be done and how he was going to make the repairs. He was very professional and completed the repairs quickly. He was thorough and tested his work several times to make sure there were no leaks when he was finished. We started to call different plumbing companies after we discovered we had plumbing problems in our drain lines, we needed to fix problem soon due to my mom age and her medication. Every plumbing company we called was short and un-courteous until my mom reminded us of your company Ernie plumbing she told us they are a great company and we are always pleased when we call them. We called and spoke to Sara she was very friendly, courteous, polite and very helpful and promised someone will be there in the next few hours. We are very pleased with the service we received. Mr. Jimmy Young Ernie’s Plumbing Services Dear Mr. Young: Please let this letter serve as a recommendation and thank you for services provided by Mr. Damien Raines (315) and Jason Smith today, October 31, 2011. To simply say “thank you” does not do justice to this team or to Ernie’s Plumbing. Let us explain. We are members of Angie’s List and obtained your company’s name and other plumbers through them. We called a plumber we had used previously about installing a new hot water heater. We waited and waited and waited for a call back from him. When he finally called, he said he could not discuss the details because he was driving, but promised to return our call when he got to his destination. He must have been driving to the South Pole because we NEVER heard from him again. Enter Angie’s list … again. Our first interaction with Ernie’s was when Damien was dispatched to our home for an estimate to replace a 50-gallon short boy water heater. He arrived within only two hours of our call. Outstanding! Damien took the time to review, evaluate and recommend the new hot water heater based upon the age (historic house) and location of the water heater in our home. During his visit, we discussed possibly installing a tankless system. Mr. Raines was very thorough in explaining the advantages and disadvantages of installing such as system given the age of the home. I bring this up because we had been looking at tankless systems in home improvement stores and not ONCE did any of the “clerks” explain to us the extensive electrical work that would need to be done. We explained to Damien we had three more estimates that were being obtained and we would let him know of our decision. Upon leaving, he gave us a magnet allowing us to have an additional 10% off our next service call. Moments after Damien left, your office called to guarantee we were happy with the service call and to assure all our questions had been satisfactorily answered. Indeed they had PLUS we now totally understood the mechanics of a tankless system – information that was instrumental in our decision to NOT install a tankless system, BUT TO USE DAMIEN. Damien presented a very professional, knowledgeable, courteous, friendly and capable demeanor. These traits are so rare in today’s employees. The other plumbers? What sold us on Damien, was his willingness to sit and explain our options and not HIGH PRESSURE us into a decision at that moment. That kind of customer respect is so difficult to find in today’s world. We purchased the hot water heater and Damien Raines (315) and Jason Smith arrived at the time they said they would for the install. Another very pleasant surprise – a company and their employees actually VALUE their customer’s time. Damien Raines (315) and Jason Smith provided us with another 10% off magnet and introduced us your Plumbing Maintenance Agreement. Considering we have had at least two plumbing callouts every year for the past two years, this is something we are definitely considering – as long as Damien is the individual dispatched! When Damien and Jason left, your office called to guarantee the installation was performed to our satisfaction. What a welcome change – a company that cares about their customer’s. We have career technical training backgrounds and from our perspective, if Ernie’s Plumbing is not utilizing Damien in a training or “team motivator” capacity, they are wasting an excellent resource. She called another local plumber from phone book and she only paid $86.23 for this work... just a SLIGHT SAVINGS of over $540.00 from your tech\'s bid.... a shame he wanted to replace everything... when not needed... and did not bid on what she wanted originally. Just to clarify this for you Ernie. Your GM Jimmy was very professional when speaking with him regarding this... he is a valuable employee for you. Needless to say, there was a problem with original estimate.

Ok, well I\'m not going to lie to anyone reading Debbi\'s post here. First allow me to address the price. There are plumbing companies charging over $200 per hour and there are a few charging less than $100. However, most charge some where in between. My company is in-between. Second I must address that the work and parts are not apples to apples comparisons. This plumber only installed what you provided him. My plumber was to disconnect, remove and replace four shut-off valves, two under the lavatory and two under the kitchen sink. He also bid to replace a hot & cold water supply line as well as the trap under the lavatory. Again these are all old parts that have worn out just as your faucet your replacing has. Obviously, to add of of this does indeed cost more because there are more parts and labor involved. However, this is NOT an attempt to sell you more than what you were asking for. Are these additional parts and labor needed or not? My answer is yes for the following reason. My plumber has to fit himself under your sink to change out your faucet. In doing so he has to manuever around your shut-off valves, supply lines, and trap in an effort to hook-up your faucet. Can he do all this and assure that when he is done and has left that the your old parts under your sink will not begin to leak from being moved around or bumped into while he was under there? No, he cannot. And most often it will not begin leaking until after he has left the job. It can be days or weeks even. And because it’s all hidden under your cabinet it can be longer before YOU recognize it. By that time the damage has been done. Now our insurance companies have to get involved. Mine if it is still under warranty or yours if it is not. And this typically runs into the thousands of dollars. Damage I know I don’t want to be responsible for. Questionable price for replaceing flange at $635.99- 10% 572.39 to replace the flange and the wax ring at 269.52-10%=242.57 Seems a little excessive. If this is a correct amount, I can say I will be shopping around more next time.

You are absolutely correct. Our plumber errored in charging once for the replacement of the wax ring and again for the replacement of the commode flange. Our plumber just misinterpreted the book rates as it prices it as though you were doing one or the other. Obviously, one is more expensive than the other. Wow!! I sent an email. In less than 15 minutes Jimmy called and started making everything better. He had read my email and had a remedy, He sent expert Supervisor Michael to come and assess the situation. Michael along with superb worker Terry Brown addressed the problem - their solution was even better than what the was done in Feb. The materials they worked with were of a higher caliber. They told me about other services that I might need in the future. They made sure that everything was working smoothly, while expressing care and concern for my aggravation. burst pipe during freeze 2/5/11- first weld had to be repaired in 7 weeks 3/27/11. Last month the whole pipe broke in to 2 parts at the point of weld. I have some lovely pictures that I would like to send you The cost to me for this awful job was $582.39 So your questionnaire might take care of how I was treated but it has nothing to do with the work actually being done well. Also I do not remember any one calling me about the service.

My files say that I have used your company for over 5 years but I am so angry it has taken me over 4 weeks to even stop and take pictures and consider tracking you down to let you know how angry I am and disappointed.

your workers were very polite however, they lied to me, did a horrible job - mike added the new water heater - it leaks, hook up for washer - came away from wall and leaked - checked under house and said all was fine - bigtime lie!!! jim came to cut old gas attachments to what used to be used to hook up old gas heaters - left the cut offs rite where they lay - gas had been on prior to his arrival and when he finished, he didn\'t turn the gas back on - said i didn\'t need it since i wasn\'t living there yet - then when he came to turn it on, he was just going to turn it on and leave...contractor made him pressure it up and sure enough - it now has a leak - no wonder he kept it turned off - then tried to say it wasn\'t what he did and left a bid for $750 to repair what he did incorrectly!!!!! talk about taking advantage of a woman alone - your company should be ashamed!!!! i had a real plumber come - all the lines under the house are from 1938 and in pathetic shape - the inspector said there was a leak under the house to be repaired - ernie\'s said there wasn\'t and all was fine - my 1st water bill was $447.00 and i haven\'t moved in yet - thank God - probably would have blown up in there thanks to jim.........i do not want you people to repair your mistakes - don\'t want any of you near my property unless you want to reimburse me for the money i wasted on you people. fyi - i will be reporting you to the BBB.......

be sure to give this to whoever is in charge and make sure to have your workers go back to plumbing school....................

I really do not even know where to begin with this one. I have never had anyone make a complaint of quite this magnitude. I had my general manager Jimmy call you to reschedule a different plumber out in an attempt to make everything right for you. However, for the moment anyway, you won\'t allow us back. Perhaps he can change your mind. He has learned that there was no leak at the water heater as you indicated. Our plumber said the contractor on the job doing other work for you had set his drink cup on the top of the heater and it had a hole in it and leaked making an appearance that the heater was leaking. Apparently this contractor and our plumber knew of this yet you did not. If you will allow us to send you a different plumber then I am certain I can get this all resolved to your complete satifaction. Allow me to say that my plumbers are human and fully capable of making mistakes just as anyone else can. David Meyer (445) was AWESOME! He was extremely knowledgeable about slab leaks. He took his time and much care to pinpoint the problem so as to keep the access hole small and contain the damage. The house is built on sand and it was echoing thoughtout the foundation. I was able to listen too. He kept me informed as he narrowed it down and when he made the decision to break the tile to get under the foundation he was RIGHT ON TOP of the leak. I don\'t know how he did it, but only one ceramic tile was removed to repair the leak. I recommend him highly. He really knows his stuff. And best of all he kept up informed during the entire process. I learned a lot and actually enjoyed it - if you can imagine that!

Repair a leaky bathtub faucet.

Our first technician that came out, Terry, was nice but did not seem to be knowledable or experienced on how to make the repair. He changed the seats and took our money and left. The faucet was far from being fixed. We called back and spoke with a supervisor who was extremely nice and professional and assured us that they would make it right and they did. They sent out Don (Badge: 327) who was AWESOME!!! He was definately knowledgeable and knew exactly what to do to fix the issue. He even pointed out that the seats that had been replaced were not the ones to be used on older style faucet and that could be contributing to the contined leak. Don is definately the technician that you want out at your house or business to make your repairs. He is fair, honest and upfront with you on the task at hand. He will be the only plumber that will be allowed in our house for future business. Thank you Ernie\'s Plumbing for sending Don and thank you Don for all of your help! You ROCK! Plumber put ballon in drain and filled shower pan with an inch of water declared the problem to be cracked tile/water pan. After having the tub regrouted noticed a stream of water coming from the shower pile. Went to remove the shower head pile and it sheared off with little effort. The pipe showes rust. Randy and James both made mention of how the piping being used had an ability to expand. Does it need to be insulated? If so, how do you recommend it to be accomplished.

PEX piping is freeze damage resistant and can expand and contract as water freezes and thaws within the tubing. No tubing material is freeze-break proof, however, and PEX should be installed using the same locally-prescribed insulation requirements to prevent freezing of any plumbing system. Therefore, YES! The service was excellent - on time, careful workman of our house interior, explained everything beforehand. The only problem we encountered was that when your company called back, we could not tell who was calling us. We prefer to know who is calling and your plumbing company is not recognizable in the Caller ID.

Repaired main water line near flowerbed in front lawn.

402-Archie arrived within minutes of our request for service and his estimate of the issue/repair was spot on when he dug into the yard and found a leak in one of the main water lines. Archie showed us the defective part, explained why there was a leak and how he was going to repair it so we wouldn\'t have any further issues. This is only our second time to need a plumber which makes twice we\'ve used Ernie\'s. My only disappointment is that my Ernie\'s regrigerator magnet, given to us on our first visit and used to hold pictures on my fridge, fell between the cabinet and I didn\'t have it to show Archie for the 10% loyalty discount. We recommend Archie with Ernie\'s plumbing to anyone who needs plumbing services.

Interesting! I have never had anyone ask me that question before. I apologize for that however, please allow me to explain. Just as you were informed, we will provide you with anything you want. Most companies will advertise or promote shall I say the brands or products that they push or carry because those brand products manufacturers are paying them to do so. In other words they get a kick-back. It is called co-op! Actually, we too at one time partipated in those programs. However, it limited us in what we could sell and besides we discovered very quickly that many our customers demanded a product that they had seen in Lowe\'s or Home Depot. And with both carrying so many various brands I just elected to drop my co-ops and provide my customer with any product they chose. Hope this helps and thank you very much for your post and question. Attach half inch galvinized to existring water and make a 12 inch riser and faucet. I stated several times that I wanted galvainize instead of the PVC. Randy did not have enough half inch so he had to go to town.

Randy did not have enough half inch and had to go town. He stated that the industry does not use much galvvanized any more. Randy said that all of the job discription he received was hock line to meter with no mention of galvanized. I know that I do not have any idea about all the aspects of your business. I spent almost all of my working career with responcibility of scheduliig, I know that intentions at the start of the day are always altered before the end of the day. My question is why are the servivimen not given more detailed work orders. It would have given Randy and myself another hour to do some other task. Randy did not need to come in the house to do the task.

We keep a lot of stock on our vans. Unfortunately, it is entirely impossible to stock everything we could possibly need. You need only to walk the Home Depot plumbing aisles to see what all there is. And even they don\'t stock half of what we need from time to time. Keep in mind that we drive to your home, review your particular job request, and offer you an absolute \"Free Estimate\"! It is not until after you\'ve given your consent can we begin to determine if we have the materials, or have to go purchase them. Galvanize piping is rarely used for water piping today and therefore is not an item we keep stocked in our vans. I hope everyone understands.

Dennis did an excellent job and has everything working perfectly. He was so pleasant and courteous and efficient in his repairs. He explained costs beforehand and also gave me tips and suggestions to help with other concerns I asked for information about. After he left, I noticed on the invoice that he had given an estimate for replacing a loose handle on one of the toilets when I need to eventually for a fee of $175 plus the part. I don\'t understand why the cost would be so much, even without the purchase of the handle. I have even replaced a handle once on a toilet myself. I was pleased with the work done by both Dennis and Archie, whom Ernie\'s sent out on a second call to my home the same morning after I discovered a new leak under my kitchen sink. Archie found that the water drip was formed from the condensation caused by my having emptied a full bin of ice into the stainless steel sink. No problem after all, and no charge he said. I appreciated that! I will recommend Ernie\'s Plumbing to friends and family members and am impressed by the caliber of people working for this business.

Was told it would cost $350 to locate pipe. When I got the bill it was $450 because he had to dig deeper than 18\" and there were roots. Was not told the price would be higher if this was the case. An additional $475 to fix leak. Thought this was really high. Originally was going to cap the pipe as it took so long to find the leak. No electricity and the pipe locater didn\'t work. When he found the leak decided to just fix it. Again, I think this price was really high. I had the magnet but wasn\'t aware that I could have used it for an additional discount. Did not receive a copy of what I signed until AFTER I paid the bill in full.

Sewer line stopped up-bathroom sink not draining-other simple facet problems to fix while there. Homeowner had the outside cover off sewer so shower and toilet could be used before plumber arrived.

My husband I are the homeowners, daughter is the tenant. The toilet,sinks,dw were not draining, etc. We removed the outside sewer cap so things would drain until a plumber could come. In addition to this we wanted the bathtub shower fixed (the faucet would not shut off completely while the shower was running- this is a simple fix(the parts cost less than $5)and should not have taken no more than 20 minutes to fix.You charged us $199.00 .He never looked at the sewer drain until he was ready to leave- shouldn\'t he have done this before he started working on the bathroom sink problem- I\'m not a plumber but thats what I would have done- see why it\'s backed up and then proceed. That was $165- not sure exactly what he did to the sink- but the hot and cold water are switched (they were when we bought the home) but told him to fix that while he was there-he did not. Again a simple fix. He finally did the camera inspection of the sewer for $87.50 so our total bill was $379.32- totally rediculous for the work that needed to be done! We will never call Ernie\'s plumbing again!

I always hate discrediting one of my customers reviews as it makes it appear that I am biased. Ok, I am. However, if you will scroll down through the reviews you will find where we have made mistakes. And when we do I own up to them. However, on this one this is just not the case. My plumber arrived at their home at 11:18 and departed at 3:14. That is four hours. I know this because we have a software program called Teletrac that will gps our vans as well as communicates with our plumber. Her complaint of $379.32 for four hours of work is not justified. That only equates to $94.83 per hour. If we had an hourly rate, which we do not, we charge by the job, then we would be losing out at this rate. That rate does not even pay for the overhead of my company. During this time my plumber cleared a lavatory sink stoppage, rebuilt a three handle tub & shower valve, cleared a main line stoppage, and then put a camera in it as well. So I have to say that this customer got off relatively cheap. On the comments that my plumber never looked at the sewer drain (main-line drain) until he was ready to leave? Well, when they called in to schedule with us, they did not mention having a main-line stoppage to our call-taker. This was not mentioned until my plumber was about to leave. I sincerely hope this customer will not take offense to my correcting them. I am only attempting to get the facts straight. I sincerely hope this customer will realize this and call us again. Also, we welcome all comments whether negative or postive and will post all of them either way. The postive ones are nice. The negative ones allow us to find our mistakes and correct ourselves if needed.

Juan Ortiz (#200) was wonderful. It was difficult to find the leak in our front yard, water was even running up hill, but Juan worked very hard in 100 degree temps to find and repair our leak. The only problem we has was with the office lady who refused to use the number I gave her and insisted on calling my husband\'s cell phone - he was in the middle of important work meeings.

I called your plumber on Super Bowl Sunday to repair a leak to the shower faucet (inside the wall) that flooded my master bed room carpet. He had to remove the sink and cabinet away from the wall. To this day the cabinet is loose and does not fit next to the wall as before. Ernies had to provide a carpet cleaning business to dry the carpet. It took four days to dry our carpet.

I am a repeatr customer but very hesitant to ever use Ernies again.

Kevin did an awesome job. The only reason he didn\'t give me a magnet is he had me sign my mother up for your PMA plan which gives her more of a discount.He was very helpful. I explained to him that my mother who is 78 has a very hard tme when anything goes wrong in the plumbing. I live over 60 miles awya so it is hard for me to get in all the time. The work was performed about 6 months ago. Your employee (#393-J. Manuel)was very courteous. He broke a shower hose attachment in the process, but graciously replaced it. PROBLEM: My hot water faucet handle just broke. Upon examination-to see if I could fix it, I saw that the hexhead screw that attached the handle to the valve, had been tightened so tight it crushed the valve extension, and within this six month period finally broke. The valve closes almost without a touch, so there\'s no reason to really bear down on it to turn it off. You can actually see the point of the hexhead plug appears to actually be penetrating the inside of the valve extension. I\'d like to have someone come take a look at this. Thanks

The price quoted was crazy,375 for 15 minites of work. Xxxxxxxxx Plumbing took 15 minites and charged me 90...I damaged it then dug all the dirt out and exposed it. All the Tech had to do was cut a 3 inch section out and he was done. I replaced the dirt. He over bid it, and cost you more than one customer.

I used the survey to describe the poor condition of my yard after a job was completed. Within 20 minutes I got a call from Jimmy about my low survey scores and concerns. He immediately set up a crew to clean up my yard for the very next day. The yard looks great and I am able to mow my yard now. It is nice to know Ernie\'s Plumbing does great work and fulfills their contracted work. They go one step further by respecting a verbal or handshake agreement with the customer. Ryan Calhoun, the gentleman that provided the plumbing service was great! He was very professional and courteous and did a thorough and professional job. We were very pleased with his work and appreciated that he wore booties and brought in a rubber backed rug to place the toilet on while he worked. It was a nice touch that the bathroom was neat and clean when he finished. The price was very reasonable for the great quality of work that was done. You hope you don\'t run into many plumbing problems at your home, but I am glad we discovered Ernie\'s Plumbing. Dig new sewer line from shop and hook up to city. Hook up new water line at shop and replace busted line. Dig up old gas line and install new line to house. Replace line connections under the house. New cleanout for sewer line. New outside faucet and install new gas hotwater heater that cost me $900!

I had 2 men start this job, James and David. I hope I didn\'t get their names reversed; one did not wear a uniform. They worked at my house for 6 days. David only came the first day for 7 hours and never returned. I asked James if he paid David and he said he did. This was a 2 man job. The workmanship James did was excellent and inspection was credited to the work. 1. They used my 2 water hoses (50\')and never rolled them back up and ran over them with the backhoe. 2. James\' power drill broke while I was at work and I came home and he was using my new drill. I had just bought it the day before and hadn\'t even used it! 3. James went into a room of my home and got a brand new sponge (still in the wrapper) I was going to use for grouting and used it to clean up the gas furnace. 4.They left trash all over the yard.(plastic, fittings, glue bottles, old castiron pipe parts)Some of it thrown on top of plants. 5.They used my 2 extension cords(50\') and never rolled them back up-just left them on the ground. They ran over the concrete corner of a planted area and never even tried to fix it-just left it for me to redo. 6. Ditches were filled and fence gate was closed but no ground area was smoothed over. They even left dirt piled up around a very old pecan tree. I have spent the last 3 weeks cleaning up and raking my yard. I did not let on how unhappy or mad I was by their actions because I wanted the job done. I paid money for 2 men and only got ONE to do the job. I did NOT get my money\'s worth and I am still cleaning up after \'their\' job. I sent James home the last day because he was very tired trying to do all the work. I thought he would come back and finish the cleanup but he never came back! What gave them the right to use my new electric tool, extension cords, and anything in my house? Don\'t they have their own supplies and tools? I spent too much money when only one man was doing the work. I want a refund of the money given to the other man who did not work.

Toilet repair. The toilet bolts had come out of the floor and the plumber, Hagen, not only told me the work that was needed he also showed and explained the work that was needed. The flange was up out of the floor and it was not welded much at all. He did the job well gave me the exact price plus the discount on the magnet that we had received on another call. A uniform was not expected or really needed . No booties were needed either, he was careful and cleaned up the area very well. I had asked if I need to caulk and he said no but he preformed the task and the job was much better than I could have ever done! Sewer main clean-out with clog.

They arrived 30 minutes late and the lady who scheduled our service the night before told me at 6pm that there was an after-hours charge beginning at 7pm so we went without a bathroom for the evening and scheduled for 8-9am the next morning. Turns out, the technician advised there is no such after hours charge so there is some training needed somewhere in the call center. However, the technician (Kevin #201) was very courteous and professional in handling the problem. He was so courteous, we just had him clean out both mains for roots which cause us hassles every couple of years. nobody is perfect but they got the job done. Thanks.

Replace all pipes from the well throughout the house. A very extensive job.

I was impressed with the office calling everyday to let me know the plumbers were on their way. Plumbers were prompt, polite, clean and cleaned up their mess. Gates had to be opened from time to time from the back to the front of the property, they made sure the dogs were gated properly so they would not be able to get off the property. Work was a little pricey, but we believe we believe our choice has and will continue to pay off. If there are any issues which may arise, we feel confident it will be handled promptly without problems.

Est. to repair leak on 3/4 pvc water line in yard already exposed *line was in a bind. used 90\'s to loop line out of bind.

job well done! Randy #319 did an excellent job of listening to what the problem was, and figuring out how to fix it. total time was maybe about an hour including pvc cement drying time. recieved discount for having had already identified and exposed the leak in the yard. I highly recommend this company to anyone needing proffesional help with their plumbing needs. thank you... and the follow up call after the job was done speaks well for this company. thanks again! :)

Slab leak

We were very satisfied with the work that was done. Both guys (Nathan Vensel and Brandon) who came at different times and who also came on a holiday weekend were on time and explained what would take place. Nathan worked tirelessly for about 6 hours straight and completed the job. Brandon came back out the next day because our water pressure in the upstairs bathroom was very low (due to debri in the aerator)and was in and out in less than 5 minutes. We will definitely call Ernies again and request Nathan Vensel and Brandon.

I called about a kitchen sink that was difficult to turn off. The plumber took one look and knew what the problem was. He tighten something in the handle and now it works like new. He said there was no charge and maybe that is why I didnt get the magnet and discounts, but I was very pleased with your service!!!!!!!

Needed an estimate to replace 3 bathroom faucets.

In addition to me buying all the required faucets and 6 flexible lines to replace the copper ones in the bathrooms, I was given an estimate of $450.00 in addition to any unforseen problems. I would imagine that replacing 3 faucets would not take more than maybe 1 1/2-2 hours. Sorry, but I just cannot afford this.

I am am older single women and Kevin was very nice and very informative in everything that was needed to be done to take care of the problem. We were given an arrival time between 11am and 3pm. Plumber Terry arived at 1105. Unusual speed in these days. He stuck with all jobs and finished with our complete satisfaction. He left every area he worked in completely clean. He even wore booties in the house. He treated us like we were old friends. His jobs were very professional. Thanks Ernie and Terry. Misunderstanding.

So because of a old callapsed sewer line I had years of backup in my line. That was fixed once the sewer line was replaced. I misunderstood what they said about the old cast-iron pipe. I really like using this company and will call them again for any plumbing issues I have. Thank you for a job well done.

Install kitchen sink facets, install garbage disposal, and hook up dishwasher.

1) Our original appointment was scheduled for Friday March 25th, but a plumber NEVER showed up. After several email and phone inquires, it was rescheduled for Saturday March 26th, and a plumber did show up around 1:30 PM. 2) Nathan Vensel (truck 63, employee #411) was very courteous and did a good job installing the above mentioned items. However, the hot water shut off valve under the sink has a small leak, which requires us to put a dish under it to catch the dripping water. I would like to schedule another appointment to get this fixed. Thanks.

My basket strainer started leaking after just having it replaced by one of your plumbers 9 months ago.

Fred, #306, did a great job and was friendly/courteous. We appreciated that Ernie's Plumbing was willing to replace the basket strainer at no cost, since we have had two of your plumbers out within the last 18 months (Fred makes #3) to address the problem. Employee #380 Donald was polite and professional. My problem is with the total amount of the Bill of $650.00. After the 25.00 Senior Discount. Yes, he did give me the estimate before he started work and I did agree. But after about 4 hrs. of labor and 1 ball valve plus fittings. I feel as though the bill should not have been that high. It would nice to have a estimate break down between labor and parts cost. It all depends on your reply as to if or when I would ever use or recommend Ernie's Plumbing.

replace bath tub faucet, it dripped had to call back, plumber returned a second time, i gave it a week to let the faucet set but it still has a small leak, i need to get the tile replaced but not until the leak is fixed, will call back tomorrow .

the leak on the bath tub faucet is still there, after two weeks it never set, maybe it should be taken off and put back on. I don't want to replace the tile until the leak has been fixed.

Toilet water backing up through the shower and bathtub. We could not run any water or use the Bathrooms. Bad situation !!

We got your number from my wifes sister who used you who also said you were great. Don was A-1. Exceeded my expectations. He found the problem quickly and knew exactly what to do. The only only thing I was a little disappointed about was when my wife first called and told her the Serious problem we were having, we were told Monday was the earliest someboy could come out. We called Saturday morning and Obviously could not wait that long. My wifes sister then called back and was then told you did have an appointment open for Sat. Water from the commode, sink and bath tub was flowing out from under the house when they were used. So much so that the ground was muddy most of the time and obviously unsanitary.

The problem required two trips to resolve due to needed parts and being late at night. Both employee #299 and #382 were very polite, even friendly and worked diligently late at night and on the weekend to solve the problem which was found to be something plugging the commode and leaks to the waste water piping leading to the sewer. After a great deal of work, the commode was freed of the blockage and, the commode reset on a new wax ring and the piping began to work properly. We were advised that the pressure had become too great causing the piping to leak. We were also advised that we needed to enlarge the vent piping and that we might need a new commode. We received a discount for being a returning customer and because we had purchased the service agreement. It's rare in today's world to find people that will work as hard as these men did, not to mention late at night and on the weekend. I would recommend this company without hesitation to the person looking for quality work and polite, friendly employees.

I was shocked at the price quoted to me to perform the services mentioned. There was no explanation as to why these items were "flat rate" regardless of time and ease. I was not given an free estimate when I called. Instead I learned AFTER the serviceman had already arrived too late to do anything about it. I have called Ernie's Plumbing several times over the past year and most of the bills were in the $100 to $150 range. This bill however was $425 for an hour and half work. [Labor only]

This customer claims that he was not given a free estimate when he called?? He is correct as we don't give estimates over the phone. Our policy is to send a plumber to your home or business, look at the problem, and give you an absolute free written estimate right at your jobsite. No obligation to you. If you're not happy with our price quoted, we leave without any charges to you what-so-ever. So again, for this customer to state that he learned AFTER the serviceman had arrived, well....again he is correct because that IS our policy and we even state that you all of our customers over the phone prior to our scheduling with you. So excuse me if I'm slightly confussed about this customers complaint. Ok...here is the truth! We were there more than an hour and a half. We were there two hours and fifteen minutes. Also, the bill was not $425 as he said. He was quoted $425 however, he negotiated the price with our plumber down to $350 before we ever began the work.

Plumber was called to investigate a frozen/burst pipe under a rental house on 02/08/2011

Plumber contacted me via Cell to inquire about having to dig under the house to gain access.I explained where he should start but I would not be able to help as we were 1200 miles away. I was then told they charged $175/hr to dig, seemed a bit excessive but he assured me it should only take a 2 or 3hrs at most. He said he would call me back with an estimate before any other work was started. I did not hear from him again, I tried to call his cell directly for two days with no response. A week later we recieved the bill after contacting them several times only to find out they had charged our credit card for the amount of $2434.50. I was absolutely shocked. This was to repair a couple of CPVC pipes, wrap them with insulation and then as to rub it in even more they did not replace the skirting around the house so our home/rental insurance is in risk of being cancelled. I am still almost a month later in awe that a company can have the audacity to charge such exhorbant rates. I have contacted them several times to see if there was some sort of adjustment that can be made, there response is "NO". Very well, I will be spreading the word about this company, I would not recommend them to anyone.

Plumber was fine,the only concern that I had was the price he quoted saying that there was grease and will need time to clean,but when he got to work there was no grease it was just a tissue paper.It took him not more than 30 minutes to do the job and I had to pay him $140.00,which seems too high and I am not sure how you justify that price.

replace the faucet in bathroom and replace waterline for ice maker for a grand total of $777.50.

i think to charge $225.00 to replace the waterline to the ice make was a little steep. a 10.00 line and $215.00 for 10 minutes to unscrew the old line and put a new line on , i had no problem with the 550.00 to replace the faucet which took over two hours cutting and soldering to take out the old and replacing with the new. original estimate to replace the washers was $199.00 the was told that the set was too old to repair and the warranty would be good for only 30 days.

Main line water leak at garage junction-and quotes were obtained for 2-3 other jobs.

The scheduling has been unrealic both times the plumber arrived. It is a 4-6 hour job and both times the plumber arrived at our house with not enough time to do the work. Then, always said "I can't come back tomorrow because I have a "BIG JOB" to do first. This does not work for me. Either come with enough time to do the estimated job or do not come at all. At the second attempt I told the plumber NOT to come back at all.

Josh must be one of your better plumbers. After he finished the work that I called about I asked him to fix the water line for the sink in the kitchen and install the faucet that I already had and he did it with no problem instead of going on to the next customer. I know he spent more time than planned at my house and he was great, plus he had to be out in that cold weather(real cold). Make sure you thank him again for me. Installation of a water heater that we provided.

The guys did a good job of the installation except for damage to the brick outside the house. In my opinion, the price of the service was WAY too high, especially after discussing it with numerous co-workers this week. It was Sunday, so I asked the plumber what the price would have been the next day, and he said it would have been the same cost. To say the least, I am NOT recommending Ernie's to any of my friends because of the cost.

A pipe feeding an outside bib burst, probably due to the icing conditios we had earlier this week.

When we heard water running on the Saturday afternoon before the Superbowl, we knew it was a burst pipe due to the very cold weather. Yours was the only company that could come to our rescue that day. Your serviceman, Mike Gentry (#410) was propmpt, courteous, mindful of doing a neat job and minimizing damage to our house, and explained all of his actions. Carlos came to my house last week to work on a plumbing issue with the master bathroom. I was very unsatisfied with him and completed a survey. was contacted by your company and you guys sent another plumber out to my house. this guy was very nice and explained alot to me. He called carlos (i believe that was his name) to see what work he done. Carlos trash talked me the entire time on the phone! I heard everything he said about me and didn't appreciate it! I wasn't trying to get him in trouble when i did the survey. I did the survey to help better your business, and to have him bad mouth me to the other plumber was uncalled for! Meant to complete this survey that day, but i was still mad and knew that my survey would be very rash. Please do not contact me.

Had a clogged toilet upstairs, causing a leaking ceiling downstairs

The guy was nice, but he had to do something outside with the plumbing and he took out my tiki torch, did not put it back. He said i needed new toilet flappers for two of my toilets, so i agreed for him to replace them. When i used the toilets, they kept filling them emptying and filling again, because they were installed properly. One's chain wasn't long enough, the other one wasn't fitted over the hole. He had to use my tools to help fix a pump that my friend attempted to replace and he left them scattered on the floor. My son got ahold of them! He threw the old flappers in my kitchen trash. Nasty. He removed the clog from the upstairs toilet, and I asked if he needed to look at the pipes in the ceiling to make sure it wasn't damaged, since there was a leak, and my ceiling was split open from the water damage. he said he didn't need to and that him removing the play doh would fix the problem. Not sure how this is logical. I mean, you can see in to my ceiling because of where the water was pouring down. He was a nice guy, but not how the last guys from Ernie's were, they made sure they cleaned up after themselves.

cold water line break, sewer back up and leak under bathtub on a 54 yr old house.

Tech, Terry Brown arrived and diagnosed the water leak problem. He called another tech to snake the sewer line. Terry worked all day and into the night to fix our problems. This was on my 87 yr old mother's 54 yr old house. My mother has had a stroke and dementia and Terry was patient and understanding when she repeatedly asked him what the problem was. I felt Terry went above and beyond to fix the problem we had and we will recommend Ernie's to anyone with a problem. Very professional and courteous.

Don #327 was awsome. We ended up having to get a new toilet. He was very knowledgeable and i never felt like the job was priced to hight. He did a great job and I felt like I could trust him. I have used Ernies multiple times both for my home and rental property. The job is always done right. But I have to admit, Don is my favorite.

Replaced outside hose bib/faucet and repaired the PVC Pipes to the pool.

Extraordinary experience! Found Ernie's Plumbing in the Verizon Yellow Pages (Flower Mound/Lewisville/Carrollton). I called at 3 pm and there was someone at the house by 4 pm for a non-emergency situation. The job was fairly difficult not to mention it was 25 degrees outside. The repairman even had to run to Home Depot for a piece. I was blown away by the service and I felt the cost was very reasonable. I have no reason to even call another plumber. Thank you. Kevin O

Don was extremely nice and courteous. He worked the entire day and when asked to "snake " our bathtub before he left for the day at 7PM, he was more then willing to spend another 30-40 minutes to do this for us. Will use Ernies again in the future for any plumbing needs that arise.

Our kitchen faucet was old & leaking and needed replacing along with the garbage disposal.

Jon arrived soon after I recieved a call-back telling me the plumber was on the way. He was clean, extremely curteous and knowledgeable. After explaining what needed to be done and why, we agreed on the price and he immediately began the work. I barely knew he was here! He checked everything after he finished to be sure it was all in correct working order, which it was indeed. He left the work area as clean, if not cleaner than when he arrived. After completion, he explained how the PMA worked and the benefits it offered to us as a customer in the future. Nobody likes spending their hard earned money on home repairs,ecspecially at Holiday Season, but it has to be done sometimes. As far as home repairs go, this was actually a good experience! I will call Ernie's for our future needs and would highly recommend them to anyone else needing plumbing work done. Excellent work Jon! Thank you!

Toilet clogged.

I called to have an estimate on my rent house in Waco. Tenant said the plumber was there maybe 5 minutes. Plumber told me the stopped up toilet was due to tenant putting something in toilet. I told him do not do the work unless he stated boldly on the bill that clog was due to tenant". I never got a bill and never got the toilet unclogged, but my credit card was charged. I would like the $165.00 returned to me at once. The toilet is still clogged and tenant has had to rent a snake several times, but toilet is still clogged. I explained to you guys that this was due to a company that had been underneath the house to lift and level the house. The toilet is STILL clogged and I am requesting my $165.00 returned immediately. I am completely dissatisfied.

Customer is right in that we were there only five minutes. The clog was a simple toilet stoppage where the tennant had flushed too much toilet paper and our plumber simply used a hand auger to unstop it. The plumber did as instructed and stated boldly on the bill that the clog was due to the tenant. Unfortunately the customer is right in that we did fail to mail the invoice to her. The toilet did re-clog and we sent another plumber out free of charge to unstop it. We also reimbursed this customer fully on her first charges as well.

After replacing the heating element, the technician reduced the thermostat's water temperature setting which I had to restore after complaints from family members that the water wasn't hot enough.

First and foremost I want to apologize to this customer because our plumber should have informed you that it is our policy to never set a water heater thermostat higher than 120 degrees to avoid the risk of scalding children. Please understand that if the thermostat is set at 155 degrees a 3rd degree scald takes 1 second. At 148 degrees it takes 2 seconds, 140 degrees 5 seconds, and at 133 degrees it takes 15 seconds. Did you know that hot tap water accounts for 17% of all childhood scald hospitalizations? Or that scalds are the number one burn injury to children under age 4? However, I must add that just as your family complains, my family's personal perference is to have it set at 140 degrees.

When the plumber arrived and inspected the situation, I discovered I had no real issue. Break in the outside line coming from the street. Water was standing in a low area of my neighbor's side yard, my meter was spinning and my yard was soggy along where we knew our line ran. Mike was able to quickly locate a sizable leak in my line and get it fixed within the hour. Unfortunately, my meter was still turning indicating a second leak. After hours of diligent probing and digging, Mike was able to determine that part of my line was actually in my neighbors backyard. At that point he was able to expose my additional leaking line and get it fixed. In the process he maintained a great attitude and professional manner. I just read your mission statement and Mike was an excellent representive for your company! I have your magnet on my refrigeratator and I will call again again!!

I called for an appointment and was able to get one set for within 2 hours of my call. I was called 30 minutes to their arrival advising me the Plumber was on the way and he showed up on time. He was polite, explained what he was going to do, and how much it could cost depending on what he found. He did the job, solved the problem, and the price was very fair. Toilet was stopped up, and water was seeping from bottom of commode.

We called you on a plumbing stoppage in our guest bath. We called because in the past when I had you out you did a very professional job and left the area clean just like when you came. Here are my concerns about this visit, after spending several hours here and calling in another helper, the toilet was still clogged. The helper was to assist with getting on the roof and coming thru the pipe-but this was not done because he said the roof was too steep. I do not think we should have been charged for this portion when it was not applied. My toilet was put back and not cleaned, the covers for over the bolts are not the same as were on there, they do not fit, and are not the same color. Rubber gloves, work gloves,and the wrapping for the toilet seal were all left on our deck. We called in another plumbing company who did unstop the toilet. We do have to say that he guys were nice and friendly.
